all right good evening i almost said good morning um it’s good to see those of you here and for those of you online we are happy that you guys are online with us although i can’t see you if we could all rise together those of us in the room and if you’re at home and are able please feel free to rise as well as we enter into this time this this tuesday is a is i would say a special tuesday as we’re focusing on honduras which is one of the countries that we go to that we partner with compassion to sponsor children there um i think in this time as we focus in on that uh i would like us to remember uh the whole reason for sponsoring the whole reason for going the whole reason for loving on these children it’s because of the gospel it’s because of what christ has done for us that we’re able to do these things and so as we spend this time in worship as we spend this time in prayer would we put christ at the forefront most of all and give him glory and jesus christ i think upon your sacrifice you became nothing poured out to death in many times i’ve wondered at your gift of life and i’m in that place once again and i’m in that place once again seen once again and once again i look upon the cross where you die i’m humbled by your mercy and i’m broken inside and once again i thank you once again i pour out my life so now you are and now you are exalted to the highest place king of the heavens where one day i’ll bow but for now i’m marvel at your saving grace now i’m full of praise once again and i’m full of praise once again oh once again i look upon the cross where you died i’m humbled by your mercy and i’m broken inside once again i thank you once again i pour out my life oh once again oh once again i look upon the cross where you died i’m humbled by your mercy and i’m broken inside oh once again i thank you once i cannot pour out my life sing thank you lord and thank you for the cross thank you for the cross thank you for the cross my friend oh thank you for the cross thank you for the cross thank you for the cross my friend always sing thank you and thank you for the cross thank you for the cross thank you for the cross my

friend holding in service oh thank you for the cross thank you for the cross thank you for the cross my friends say once again and once again i look upon the cross where you died i’m humbled by your mercy and i’m broken inside oh once again i thank you once again i pour out my life and once again i thank you once again i pour out my life and once again i thank you once again not pour out my life and god as we continue to sing we remind ourselves that this that that it’s because of what you’ve done god that has the power to change lives it’s not simply a sponsorship it’s not simply just love alone but god it is because of what you’ve done it is the power of the cross god that changes lives so as we as we continue in singing god and as we continue throughout tonight would we yearn that your love the gospel would change lives in honduras god that your love will penetrate hearts and that it would just spread god as warning dawns and evening face you inspire songs of praise that rise from earth to touch your heart and glorify your name and your name is a strong and mighty tower your name is a shelter like no other your name let the nation sing louder cause has the power to save but your name yes we believe god it’s your name and your name alone jesus in your name we pray come and fill our hearts today lord give us strength to live for you and glorify your name we sing it’s your name here’s a song in mind it’s out your name your name let the nation sing louder cause nothing has the power to save your name oh your name your name is a strong and mighty town your name let the nation sing nothing louder the power to save

your name is a strong and mighty town your name is a shelter like no one your name let the nation sing louder cause nothing has power to save your name let’s sing that line again in your name let the nation sing it louder your name and let the nation sing loud cause nothing has the power to says in your name your name let the nation sing louder cause nothing has the power to say singing one more time your name and let the nation sing louder cause nothing has the power to save for your name that’s what we declare today god that is your name that we can take refuge in that we can find shelter in at this time it’s your name that has the power to move mountains to change hearts and so god we ask that in this time where we look to you in this time where we spend with you that god it would be your name that the nations would be declaring not only in honduras god but all over the world that is our prayer that you would be known and as we continue to look into hunters as we continue to pray for our brothers and sisters out there as we continue to think of the children that we sponsor that god that it would be your name ultimately that would reign in their hearts that they would find freedom in it that they would find salvation god that they would find joy peace and that they would know that they are loved by you god so we thank you so much just let me pray amen you may be seated thanks ben good evening tonight i’m sure a lot of you kind of know why we’re here especially if you’ve been with us for a while it’s no surprise that we’re going to be praying for honduras tonight but i did want to share a little bit about why we are praying for honduras maybe you haven’t been with our church for several years maybe you’re you’re newer or maybe you’re watching this later on but just to kind of explain because we didn’t throw this name or this country in like a random country generator and we’re like all right this tuesday like it didn’t happen like that we actually have a partnership with them and if i could explain that really briefly first before i begin a few years ago you know it’s perfect it seems like the perfect like relationship because living hope i think what we really care about and what we’re really good at and i say this without offending the rest of the staff myself included um i think our kids ministry is amazing and i’m still trying to get our youth group like to that level but we have this like great love for the kids and then what we do is compassion they they try to uh work with and serve kids in poverty but they do it through the local church uh and with the gospel and so uh you know in honduras there is actually this mother church that’s there and they’re they’re really trying to plant other churches in different cities and in la paz uh this small city in honduras they found local leaders to go there and and through compassion our church living hope were able to sponsor over 200 kids exclusively and help fund the building of a church for them so that they could worship together and

so we have this great partnership happening and it seems like just like i don’t know not that long ago since we had all these kids posted up in our church just all over and some of us kind of like ran to like i don’t know the cutest kid or or whatever like oh this is my birthday or whatever we do and we kind of grabbed all these kids off the walls and we sponsored them and you know since then i actually had the privilege to go to honduras for several years in a row with some of the people here and it was such a great experience and you know this summer because of covid and everything i know a lot of people they’ve been going out to missions every single summer and we’ve been talking about how much we miss that and when i think about honduras i do miss um going with some of the parents uh going with some of the students like ryan he preached last year at vbs that was amazing to see a student preach the gospel and it was like he was our keynote speaker pretty much and he did all the it was great i miss uh playing soccer with a pastor moon and getting kicked in the face and you know things like that with the soccer ball and um of course i miss seeing the students and doing vbs in like this like 200 degree room uh in in even like the summer while like drinking like coffee i’m like yes i would like the honduras blend please and like as i’m drinking the honduras blend i’m like thinking of them and so like there is this like uh heart in me for them and and i think for a lot of us um you know maybe our relationship with honduras and the kids there uh boils down to sponsoring a kid maybe they’re on our refrigerator or they’re on our compassion app or we get emails or whatever that looks like and so tonight what we’re actually doing is we’re setting aside this prayer chapel exclusively to pray for them to lift them up and so i want to share a devotional thought out of ephesians 6 and as i try to explain this passage because i had the privilege to go there for a few years i’m going to actually try to illustrate the the biblical point through stories from honduras if that makes sense and so i’m gonna try to unpack ephesians six just one verse in there and hopefully i’ll try to illustrate kind of how they pray because you know and this is so cliche to say but you know just everyone who goes on mission trips it’s like oh like you know how was your trip you know did how was the ministry how many people got saved and then you know they come back and they say things like um you know i was way i was way more blessed than how much i blessed them or something like that right like oh they taught me way more than i ever taught them and that’s completely true and i think when it comes to something like prayers specifically i really believe we have a lot to glean from them and so um i’m just gonna kind of share some stories about what they’ve done how they pray and hopefully that encourages us and spurs us on as well and so we’re going to be looking at ephesians chapter 6 ephesians 6 just one verse and we’re going to be looking at verse 18. paul he writes this letter to the church in ephesus and towards the end of it a lot of us are pretty familiar but ephesians 6 is it’s very famous for spiritual warfare and so paul he’s talking about how there’s so many problems or so many issues and sometimes we want to blame other people or we want to blame circumstances but at the heart of it what’s happening is there is a spiritual reality that we’re we’re people not we’re not just material people but we actually have souls and there’s a spiritual battle going on and he talks about spiritual armor i know some people have like tattoos of like spiritual armor and warfare and all this stuff and then towards the end he’s saying essentially paul is saying if you believe that there is this spiritual reality if you really believe that there’s more to life than just what we see that there’s something deeper going on if there’s something eternal at stake he describes a spiritual armor and then he he actually gives one practical actionable item and he says if you truly believe in this spiritual warfare that’s happening when you see all the problems and all the chaos in the world then the one thing that should urge us to do is pray and so we’re just going to look at ephesians 6 18 it says this ephesians 6 18 praying at all times in the spirit with all prayer and supplication to that end keep alert with all perseverance making supplication for all the saints and so paul’s encouragement here if you kind of miss it the first time in this one verse he actually repeats all he’s trying to encompass he’s trying to capture like this idea of pray for everything all the time and so he

uses all actually four times in just this one verse let me read it again and try to catch the emphasis here praying at all times in the spirit with all prayer and supplication to that end keep alert with all perseverance making supplication for all the saints and so paul’s encouragement and we’ll break down i guess each phrase or each all section little by little as we kind of walk through this verse but paul begins by saying praying at all times in the spirit and so he’s saying pray every time every season every moment whatever situation whatever circumstance you’re in it is fitting to pray and then he says but do so in the spirit and so what does that mean what does it mean to pray at all times in the spirit like is that different than praying in the son or in the father and martin lloyd jones he actually tries to explain this concept and he says the best way to understand praying in the spirit is to oppose it with the with understanding praying in the flesh and so playing praying sorry praying playing in the flesh is something very different okay but praying in the flesh okay praying in the flesh it’s the idea of going to god with your own strength with your own agenda with your own will power trying to generate words trying to generate ideas uh through the flesh with our own thought process but praying in the spirit is depending on god leaning on him seeing where he leads you how he convicts you kind of waiting on the lord praying in the spirit and so we’re not just going to god with our own thoughts our own strength but we’re completely leaning on him we’re praying in the spirit i remember we were at uh in honduras one of the nights and we got invited to a prayer meeting because i think one of the the senior pastor of the mother church was and he’s he’s this like bigger dude but he’s so friendly he kind of reminds me of like pastor rick warren he’s just like very outgoing and so he he like he always smiles at everyone and he’s like hey what is your team doing tonight we’re like nothing he’s like perfect we have a prayer meeting you should join us we’re like of course yeah we’re gonna be there we show up to the prayer meeting uh it’s this massive sanctuary uh the the mother church is in the the town square of la paz and so it’s in this the middle of the city it’s been there for i think over 100 years it’s like three stories it’s a it’s a massive church the sanctuary is like huge we’re in there all these people show up on like a tuesday or wednesday night and then the pastor what i’m expecting with with a prayer meeting is pretty much what we do like this is my concept of prayer meeting like we’re gonna come you know someone’s gonna sing with you know amazing gifts and talents you know few songs devotional is okay and then we’re gonna pray through a few topics and then song at the end and go home right as the senior pastor went up for the prayer meeting i could tell that it is not structured like he had no kind of plan almost like he went up and he’s like all right we’re here we’re all together so um all right who who could play guitar maybe like uh oh hey yeah you over there like you got it right all right let’s what song do you guys want to sing like uh let’s sing about jesus today man i was reading in my like bible that like jesus is amazing let’s like give it up so then like there’s no words people are just know the songs they just sing um and then i’m like i’m like okay stay awake guys it’s at night like we cannot fall asleep that was my like okay team we can’t fall asleep okay be attentive we’re there and i think like right before the prayer meeting started so the guitar person did their thing he was like all right um do you guys have a performance like you guys from uh america or like or whatever uh can you guys come up and we’re like uh yeah we could do a song and so we just did the song and then right after that he was like okay it’s a prayer meeting so who has prayer requests like does anyone need anything and then someone would just stand up and then he’d be like all right you um here pass the mic over share your prayer requests they’d share their prayer request and then he said okay this sister is going through this this problem who wants to pray for them and then oh you thank you and just come up and just pray and then there was nothing it was just the entire there was almost no program in the entire night people just prayed for each other it was just literally a prayer meeting to just sing and pray that’s literally it there was no agenda there was no nothing in and i share this not to say that having structure or plans is bad

i’m not saying that i prepared something for tonight too right it’s it’s not i don’t think it’s evil but i think the way that they pray it’s really it’s really spirit-filled it’s it’s kind of hard to describe but as as they’re praying you could tell it’s not scripted they’re just like as a spirit is leading them they just pray for the sister pray for that brother like they’re not trying to impress anyone even in the preparation again preparation is not bad but even in our preparation sometimes our agenda our preparation isn’t done in the spirit i confess even as a pastor a lot of the times my agenda in speaking is oh man i hope i impress these people i hope this is relatable i hope they’re moved and so a lot of it oh what did i learn today oh this was really interesting from this week i learned about and it becomes very out of the flesh but paul’s urge here his his charges pray at all times in the spirit it’s okay it’s okay if you don’t have the best words it’s okay if it doesn’t sound good it’s okay if no one gets impressed are you praying in the spirit are you depending on god are you are you leaning on him in in every time they pray man they they really i had no idea what they were saying at a lot of the times but i could tell that they’re praying in the spirit just by the way that they’re doing it right and so praying in the spirit that’s what he calls us to the second phrase with all prayer and supplication okay all prayer and supplication i was trying to research this a little bit and so uh in the greek the word prayer i looked it up and it means prayer okay but uh but a little bit different not the way that paul uses it is he never says pray maybe like the way that we pray every time he uses the word prayer he’s almost always talking about praying for other people and the way that he uses supplication we almost never use this word but a good way to kind of understand it is seeing what is lacking seeing what needs to be supplied and praying for god asking god the good and gracious father to supply those things and so when we pray when we do all things in prayer and supplication that means we’re praying for other other people asking god to supply their needs even sometimes the most basic needs that’s kind of what it looks like every time we would go to the church plant i would try to schedule a lunch so that we could sit down with all the staff and so we clear out the sanctuary completely and then we get in a huge circle where like we have each staff member kind of tell us updates from the year and sometimes it’s something like uh maybe how the building is going or how the the paint is going or how the how the kids are doing um what their what sundays look like what their city is going through and they would share blessings like hey god has really helped this family god really helped give these people jobs and god is doing this great stuff and so they would share blessings but sometimes in our big meetings they would share struggles and so a lot of it was very female-led and they kind of go down the line one by one they passed the mic and i remember some of the the women there who are the leaders they would share really difficult things like there’d be a lot of viruses that happen in that area and when people get sick there’s not a lot of resources and so they were talking about that how like you can get bit by a mosquito and contract this virus and it’s very scary for them especially for kids the kids have passed away because of it they talk about that they talk about the political climate and how there’s protests and people just kind of riot and do things like that in the area they share about people not having enough resources or supplies they share all these burdens and i remember listening to them share and thinking wow this is like stuff that i don’t think about typically like the political state of honduras like i have no idea the the viruses happening in like central america i’m not thinking about this typically but i think what fascinated me so much was as they were talking about each of these items they didn’t say um we have these viruses so we need to we need a car to go to the hospital even though that might be true they didn’t say things like um you know this family didn’t have enough money and so could you could you guys give more money like they didn’t say things like that they would share their struggles and burdens and then the next sentence out of their mouth almost every time leader after leader after leader was we’re going through this problem so we pray about it can you can you please

continue to pray for us can you continue to pray for us when we see these problems we pray it’s almost as if like their knee-jerk reaction is hey there’s trouble there’s a there’s an issue we just pray like we just go to god and it i think that’s that’s kind of the attitude and heart here that whatever we need we just trust that god will supply it this is i think really what prayer looks like this is what our our spiritual prayer life should be like and then he continues paul he says pray alert with all perseverance the disciples with jesus especially at the end of his life jesus is like i’m going to go through a lot right now this is going to be the hardest night of my life come with me pray with me keep watch stay alert don’t fall asleep essentially continue to pray and the disciples they couldn’t do it they kept falling asleep and what paul is saying here is keep alert with perseverance so just like continue to pray continually pray like don’t don’t lose heart don’t lose hope just stay persevere in prayer uh going to honduras my first trip it was a vision trip and they were just showing us what compassion does and they brought me to this like really small office in tegucigalpa which is like the capital city and i was in this room where there were like like tens of thousands of letters so people are writing their compassion kids and there’s all these letters and there’s translators translating everything and a lot of us we get those translated letters because it filters through that office and i remember going there and them saying what what the kids look forward to more than anything else is getting a letter from their sponsor and pretty much every time i get a chance to talk about honduras i do have to mention that if you are sponsoring a child please write to them and and i’m like how much should i write to them um and they’re like they’re like yeah like well let me put it like this almost every week when we send people or however often they send people from the office the kids run up to to the people and they they ask did my sponsor write me a letter like they asked that like every every opportunity they get and i’m like oh my gosh that’s um that means i should write more letters and they’re like yeah you sh you should write more letters please tell everyone you know who’s sponsoring a child to write more letters um and and they were like three to six is good like just christmas birthday just just because like you know just the typical and i remember when they shared that like this huge like like guilt wave like hit me and i was like i need to write more letters wait what’s my child’s name again like i seriously to be honest i was like oh my gosh i’m terrible i’m like a horrible human and i remember feeling like that but there was a moment i know some of us are like feeling the shame okay but what made me feel even worse than that i know i’m going there okay what made me feel even worse than that is uh talking to the the local church and asking them you know like what does your church look like typically and they care for the kids every so they would have rotations tuesday thursday monday wednesday whatever that looks like and then i remember they shared this and it was so like i don’t know why it impacted me so much but they said part of our typical rotation of course we take care of the kids we have sunday service and then we gather on a week night every single week and we do that so we could pray for living hope we do that so we could pray for the living hope pastors and leaders and staff we pray for every single member that goes there we pray for everyone who’s going to step into the building anyone who’s affected by the ministry we pray for living hope every single week we gather specifically to do that and i think after they said that again like all of this guilt like fell on me and i was like oh my gosh like i do not think about them nearly as much as they think and pray for me but paul’s encouragement here again is continue to persevere in prayer just continue to do it just as as much as you can just don’t don’t stop praying keep watch don’t be discouraged don’t be even discouraged by your lack of prayer just continue to persevere persevere in prayer and lifting up look up their name write it down somewhere look at the fridge make it a habit to pray for them weekly daily whatever that looks like i think that’s what they would want in some ways more

than anything and in this season i have no doubt that they’re praying for us probably weekly still yeah i completely believe in that and lastly the last section it says making supplication for all the saints and the the verse just kind of ends here and um you know i don’t know about you like i don’t know what your prayer life looks like like if someone got a transcript of every time you prayed to god and kind of typed that out i wonder what that would look like for you um but i kind of know what it looks like for me um for me i i pray i pray a decent amount i would say and i pray a lot for no surprise but myself and my wife and my family and my friends and my ministry my staff my students like that’s what i pray about and and i remember i remember this past trip i went with a group of students and one of the best things we get to do when we go there is not just do ministry in vbs for a week as great as that is we actually get to go into some of their homes and so i remember going into this one students it wasn’t my sponsored child but it was the student’s home i went with her inside and you know typically if i have people over my house i’ll clean up like the living room and like the downstairs area but like the rest of it is like crazy messy but you don’t show anyone like any of that stuff right but when you go to their home they actually encourage you to to ask them to show you around like hey can you show me your kitchen can you show me your bathroom and and they want to be open because they want us to get a sense of what their living conditions are really like they say it’s not like rude to do that you can ask whatever you want essentially and so we went into one of the their places and their living room was pretty much their entire house i got there with i think a few other a staffer and two other high school girls were there and then i remember looking around they just had like uh like a few chairs for us to sit on and then on the mantle of their in their living room it was just like a bookshelf and they didn’t have a lot of stuff in their house maybe like two bowls and like just a lot of stuff all over the floor and i remember right when i got into their home i i saw on the mantle a picture and in their in their place they had no pictures like no no paintings no no like things on the wall nothing but they had a picture and i was so curious because i was like i wonder what that is and so i sat there and i was just looking at it to try to figure out what it was but the more i looked at it i quickly realized that it was a picture of the sponsored family and so the high school girl that sponsors this child you know you’re supposed to send a picture of your family and so they sent like a digital picture and so they took that like letter that they got and folded it up and put it in a picture frame and put it like on in their living room and so in their in their family in their home the only picture they had was of their sponsored family the the family that sponsors them and i remember seeing this high school girl and she is um she’s on the colder side i’ll say she’s not like the warmest uh if you know what i’m saying but when she when she saw like what was happening i think she just broke down i’ve never seen her like show even a lot of emotion at all she just broke down because it did something to her she was like probably thinking like i i barely like think about this is what what i would be thinking i barely think about you like you have a picture of my family that’s the only thing you have in your whole house you framed it you put it up like what the and in that moment like i i just i’ll i won’t forget it and and when i think about my home how i decorate my home i have a lot of pictures up all over my house it’s pictures of me and my wife and our family and our friends and i’m sure it’s very similar for a lot of us here and i’m not saying that for all of us our prayer life is directly correlated to the pictures we have in our home i’m not saying that okay your situation could be totally different but i’m saying personally for myself i would say that’s the case like it’s really easy i think for me to be out of sight out of mind but for this family what they prayed for for the sponsored child the only thing that they had was

their sponsor like they think so they think of us so often they think so much of us and when i look at my own life i’m like oh my gosh like i feel this guilt i feel this shame and it’s difficult for me and i share all of this not to guilt us into praying for them not to guilt us into writing letters for them and i’ve been sharing a lot of stories about honduras not to even put them on a pedestal although i feel like we could learn a lot from them in their prayer life and how they pray i’m my hope really is man the way that they pray isn’t just something i think for us to imitate but i really believe that their prayer life really looks like the prayer life of jesus and i think that is something worth imitating and thinking about see jesus himself he was someone who constantly was in prayer with god the father like he was praying all the time for everything he he made prayer and supplications for the people around him constantly praying for the sick the hurting the kids he constantly did this in his life always prayerful with perseverance even to the point of death that even on the cross as he’s dying for our sins he’s praying for us saying father forgive them they don’t know what they do jesus was a man of prayer this was his life and for us who understands his sacrifice for us who understands the grace and love that he shows us freely that’s something worth imitating so living hope i don’t know i don’t know how much we’ve been praying for this church plan in honduras i don’t know how much we’ve been thinking about us our sponsored child if we have one or maybe we don’t and i’m not trying to guilt or shame us into praying and doing more things i hope that we can pray but that we’re driven by love or driven by the grace of jesus we’re driven by our compassion that we’ve received from god so that we are prayerful for them and so i really encourage us to be prayerful tonight not just tonight but to even take action throughout the weeks months years that we sponsor as we can i know they’re praying for us and i feel like it makes sense for us to do the same you know we’ve been trying to put this night together and something we actually got which i think is pretty special is we actually have a short video that they actually sent over of a few kids and a few teachers kind of showing us what they’ve been doing and kind of what’s going on a little bit so we can get a glimpse and so at this time we’re going to actually watch a video and then we’re going to have a few different people come up and throw a few prayer topics so we can actually pray together a little bit so let’s take a look at the screen together at the video is foreign and at this time we’re going to throw out three different prayer topics

and we’ll invite a few different people to kind of come up and lead these different topics and we’re trying to even maybe send this over to them and so um i think someone might even pray in spanish if they could pull it off but it won’t be me and from the video maybe some of us even have uh maybe we actually just saw our sponsored child i don’t know if you could tell by the resemblance but one of the children on there is a boy that my wife and i sponsor um very recently and i haven’t gotten a chance to see him and i was looking forward to doing that but um at this time let’s begin with this first prayer topic uh let’s take a moment to pray for the children at this church plant and so let’s lift them up in prayer maybe we are a sponsor ourselves maybe our family sponsors a child maybe we’ve gone to honduras and remember some of the kids there remember their faces or maybe we don’t sponsor a child and we’re just here because you know we do want to be faithful in praying not just for ourselves but others also and maybe we could just generally pray for this church plant in la paz honduras that the children they stay safe and healthy their families are are doing well and that in this time they’ll continue to grow in their faith that they’ll know jesus as a personal savior that they’ll continue to grow up and be healthy holistically and so let’s take a moment and pray for the children in honduras specifically and then i’ll close us in a word of prayer um yes so before yes um father we come before you and god we confess that sometimes we aren’t as prayerful as we would like to be but god you’re faithful and god we lift up these children to you in honduras with 200 something kids that are there being sponsored by different people at our church god we lift them up to you especially this year when we’re not able to see them face to face at all but god we pray that you keep them safe god you’re a good father we ask that you protect them you allow them to be healthy you give them enough food and water

god that they’ll continue to learn and grow and discover their passions and and get to do their hobbies and as they’re at home that they’ll be able to build closer relationships with their family their parents and siblings and grandparents and aunts and uncles nearby god that that they’ll remember how loved they are by you god that you love them infinitely and your presence is there and so god we pray that they can feel this especially now especially this year gotten more than anything else god we pray them to to know you it’s just such a joy to see them recite these bible verses god but we pray for saving faith god that they really have a vibrant relationship an intimate relationship with you god we pray that for each and every one of them god more than anything else god we thank you so much we know that you care for them and we pray this in jesus name amen amen we’d like to pray for specifically our next prayer topic is for the church plant in la paz honduras we’re going to lift up the pastor the pastor’s family the director the teachers the staff who are involved in taking care of the children down there so if we could just pray for them dear god at this moment we’d like to send our prayers and our blessings to the families to the friends in la paz honduras wanna lift them up in prayer we thank you lord for just being able to use them and guide them and protect them during this moment please be with all the wonderful families and friends out there especially for our pastor and their family for all the directors and staff who are taking care of the children it’s a it’s a really difficult job with no lord father in heaven but you are ultimately in control and we thank you for this opportunity to pray for them in jesus name we pray amen hi my name is duro i had the privilege a couple years ago to go to honduras with my son and cly and the rest of the staff and we learned a lot of things there especially about the city of la paz and the country and it’s a country population of about 10 million but we know that there’s a lot of things that we can definitely pray for and so just a couple of topics number one if you can pray for the government the federal government uh and also on the local level the city of la paz that these leaders would um you know steer away from corruption uh would treat the people with respect and the the justice that they deserve um and that they would help the people that’s number one number two um for the social economic conditions there um you’ve probably heard in the news that there’s lots of migrants who have been trying to come across the borders even up to the united states and get turned back and so we know that things aren’t great and so we pray for those conditions there that they would improve for those people um also it goes along with health right with the covet situation there we

pray for their health and their safety as well and lastly i think we could definitely just pray for just the spiritual the spiritual warfare that’s going on in the country and that god can use the leaders uh people of faith to lead the people to to bring to bring a renewal a spiritual revival in in the lives of the people in honduras so if you take a moment now just pray for those things then i’ll close up in prayer you heavenly father you are a god of this universe you are our father but you are so god of honduras and we pray for that country pray for specifically the city of la paz uh where we have our our our church plant god we pray for the the leaders there and the whole country of honduras that father you would move people in leadership positions to to help the people and to to support and encourage them so they can live a life more full and abundant like you want them to do and to have so we pray for the leaders that you would put in place those that can really help and and and love and improve the the life conditions in honduras we pray for the the social economic conditions there that god that your your hand would move to to help people deal with the sickness of kobit 19 the economic depressions there just the corruption the violence god we know all those things um make life so difficult i make life bleak but god we pray that your hand would be moving in those areas and you would help help the people in honduras be able to persevere and endure and lastly god we just pray for people of faith who believe in your power that they would be compelled to reach out and minister and reach the people who are lost and spread the gospel to them just like the people in honduras in our church plants they’re doing through compassion so we pray for for honduras that way we pray for la paz that way and we want to continue to trust and put our faith in you that your holy spirit will do the mighty work in honduras we thank you in jesus name we pray amen if we could all rise together as we close out our time with this song of response and um i know for some of us including myself that have been there this may be easier uh to do and for some of us who for most of us who haven’t been there um it may be a little bit more difficult but we’re gonna sing waymaker and in this song um there’s a lot of instances that say you are here would we sing maybe on their behalf thinking as if we were there with them that god is there that he is here working in this place that he is moving let’s sing this together you are here moving in
